SEPTEMBER 2022 Comments

SEPTEMBER 2022…What a patriotic month it is! My calendar shows 9/2, V-J Day: Japan Signed Formal Surrender (1945); 9/5 Labor Day; 9/10 US Naval Sea Cadet Corps Incorporated (1962); 9/11 Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance AND Grandparents’ Day; 9/14 “Star Spangled Banner” Written By Francis Scott Key (1814) and Ladies Auxiliary VFW Organized (1914); 9/16 POW/MIA Recognition Day; 9/17 US Constitution Approved  (1787) Constitution and Citizenship Day; 9/18 US Air Force Established (1947); 9/23 AUTUMN BEGINS; 9/25 Gold Star Mother’s Day and Rosh Hashanah Begins; 9/29 VFW DAY-VFW Established (1899). These commemorations should give us plenty to celebrate this month! If you’ll notice the dates begin way back, showing consistency in our nation’s history. It is our job to continue with history through our organization. Please remember to celebrate and report through our Patriotism Program.

I have heard many good comments about the reports that are being sent in. As I receive messages from our Department Chairs, I am sharing with the District 14 Auxiliaries. Please   take time to read the emails that are forwarded to you and share to promote positive communications!

The three trainings offered (July 31, August 6 and August 20)  went over extremely well, however the trainings never stop! If you have questions or want someone to sit down with your group or individually with you, please let us know! Several were not able to make these trainings, but anyone can call and request another or more training! Thanks again to Highland Lakes 6974, Killeen 9192, and Harker Heights 3892 for hosting these!
