District 14 VFW Auxiliary  President Monthly Comments

  January 1, 2021

Dear Auxiliary Presidents, Sisters and Brothers,

December found us hard at work on the Department of Texas and District 14 Auxiliary VAVS Christmas, headed up by our very own Juanita Workman.  Most of our Auxiliaries, several of our Posts and others pitched in to make this a good year for our hospitalized veterans.  We were not able to visit our veterans at the VA Hospital due to COVID.  Instead, a “stuff the (300) stockings” event was held at the Copperas Cove Post the morning of December 17th to bring everything together.  Then two of our VAVS reps delivered the donations to the VA Hospital in the afternoon.  Thanks to everyone that participated in this worthwhile project!

Also in December, we completed our Mid-Year reporting and assisted with District Scholarship judging.  I think the Holiday break was well deserved!

What’s Up?

January 16th – 9:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. – Our second District meeting of the 2020 – 2021 year will be held at Post 8577 in Copperas Cove.  We look forward to awarding our District Scholarship winners in the morning and being brought up to date at our Auxiliary meeting in the afternoon.  Please plan to attend.

January 20th – 23rd – 2020 – 2021 Mid-Year Roundup – Omni Hotel, Corpus Christi.  Information can be found in the January edition of Our Two Cents here:  https://9d22b9ad-eb5e-4f97-afa7-b7501d02ae21.filesusr.com/ugd/24fe0b_5556b6c2274a4a17af7233b70786ee47.pdf

As of this writing, reservations are still being taken for this event.

March 27th – A District Family Freedom Festival is in the planning stages.  This Auxiliary event has been slated to be held at the Marble Falls Post 10376 but all Auxiliaries are invited to participate.  Please watch for further details.
