Chaplain Corner - September 2020
September 1, 2020
From the Chaplain’s Pen................................................................Chaplain Al Lowe
The year changes quickly from summer to fall and winter. It has been a hot summer and I suppose it to be a rather “warm” fall. But soon it will be cold, the rain may be in the form of ice, and we will once again pine for the hot days of summer.
The fall also carries with it many activities and events for the VFW individual. First would be our endeavor to solicit more veterans to join our organization as we seek to provide assistance to the veteran. There will be several District & Post Meetings through the next few months. I hope to see you across the State, Districts a and our District 14 & Posts.
Fun aside, we also have several events which we should now be in preparation. Specifically, I think of November 11, Veteran’s Day. This is not something we do once a year to get our ticket punched, but a day of remembrance of the many who paid the ultimate price for our nation. For me, Veteran’s Day is not simply a day in November, but every time I salute the flag, I thank God for those Veterans (and never forget family members) who made it possible.
Lot’s of things happening. Take advantage of all you can. And in all things, give thanks.
Blessings,
Allen Lowe
