Chaplain Corner - November 2019
November 1, 2019
From the Chaplain’s Pen ……………..............……………………….. Chaplain Al Lowe
And once again, we turn the calendar to another month. However, this month, November, has many issues tied to it. First of all is the changing of the time from “Daylight Savings Time” to “Central Standard Time.” In the language of non-scientific folk, it is the unnecessary turning the clock forward in the spring and backward in the fall. Worked well during the depression of the 1930s but is a pain in the cabboser in the lives of the 21st century people.
Another is the return of the Astros to Houston. They lost in rare form. After 180 games, the came some three or four runs short of beating the highly paid individuals from Washington.
As I write this, I am preparing for trick-or-treat. There was a time when I really enjoyed legal-begging for candy, and the legal-taking of candy. This year, I am not too sure there will be anyone at my door – it is COLD out there.
I have been visiting several of the Districts over the past couple of months. I am showing them the proper way to conduct a Memorial Service. Seems like everyone knows the Memorial, but very few know it correctly.
Next week is Veterans Day and to all veterans from E1 to O10 thanks for your service. To each and every one of you, you are GREAT AMERICAN.
Gotta go now, and I am Thankful for each and every one of you. I pray God's blessing upon you to know and live in peace.
Bible Verse Of The Month
Psalm 119, Verse 176
"I have gone astray like a lost sheep;
seek thy servant;
forI do not forget thy commandments."
