Chaplain Corner - May 2019
May 1, 2019
From the Chaplain’s Pen.........................................................................Chaplain Al Lowe
We start another month with Wednesday being May 1, 2019. And of course, who can forget or overlook Saturday, May the Forth Be With You! But, May also holds many kinds of celebrations. There are the Proms for those graduating from High School – I happen to have one grand-daughter and grand-son graduating this year. There are also the graduations from college – and again I happen to have one grand-daughter and one grand-son graduating. May 6th is my wife’s birthday. ((I better not forget)) And May 30th is Memorial Day, a very sincere and meaningful day of remembering those who have given the final measure in the defense of our Great Country.
May brings in the growth and development of spring. I have begun mowing my grass every week right now knowing that in July I will be down to mowing once every two weeks and in August, no mowing at all. Right now, the flowers are in bloom giving beauty to the landscape. The Blue Bells have come and gone – but they sure were beautiful. Now the Yellow flowers decorate the countryside. And in not too long, I will be going fishing, caring not a whiddle whether I catch a fish, but being out on the lake.
All of this brings to my mind the wonder and glory of a God who gives us children and grandchildren for school and work. It is only a God who can create the beauty of the flowers, and the lakes and rivers from which we can fish. Never forget to be thankful for that which we have been given.
Take care of yourself. Take care of a veteran. I will see you down-range.
