District 14 VFW Auxiliary President Monthly Comments

August 2020

Dear Auxiliary Presidents, Sisters and Brothers,

It is a lot.  We are juggling an act that has never been attempted before, at least in our lifetime.  But it is not about us.  It is always about our servicepeople, our veterans, our community, and each other.  We are trying new and different avenues to stay safe yet keep our efforts going to meet the VFW Auxiliary’s commitments.  We can do it!

What’s Up?

New information and updates are being provided often through email and Facebook.  Our Facebook page can be found at VFW Auxiliary District 14, Texas.  Please send in your events and pictures for posting to Mark Todd, our administrator, at proudarmyhubby@gmail.com.  We want to know what your Auxiliary is doing!

District 14 Training will take place August 15th from 10 AM – 3 PM at Post 8577 - Copperas Cove.  (See Facebook for more details.)  Everyone is invited.  It is particularly important for Presidents, Secretaries and Treasurers to attend.

The District 14 Health Fair is scheduled for 10:00 am September 12th at VFW Post 3892 in Harker Heights.  It promises to be a learning experience.  Delores Miller, Senior Vice President is leading the charge for our Auxiliaries. Please contact her at delorazmil152@yahoo.com with any questions or to participate.

The District 14 VFW and Auxiliary are coming together to help Operation Stand Down – Central Texas on October 24th at the Killeen Event Center.  This is a project to benefit the homeless, many of them veterans.  Donations of clothing, personal toiletries and cash are needed.  Volunteers are also needed.

In closing, I would like to say, “Keep Going!”  Keep showing up to face each day with courage, passion, and determination.  This is a team effort.  I rely on you as we should rely on each other to keep moving forward.  Thank you for all you do.

Nancy Keck, President
