District 14 VFW Auxiliary President Monthly Comments
Dear Auxiliary Presidents, Sisters and Brothers,
We are now more than half way through our year. It’s gone so fast! We completed a number of milestones, proving once again that as a team District 14 is unstoppable.
Our second District Meeting of the year is in the rear-view mirror. A huge thank you to Post 8577 Copperas Cove and their Auxiliary for being gracious hosts once again. The District Voice of Democracy, Patriot’s Pen, and Teacher of the Year honors were awarded as part of the morning’s business. Thank you to all of the VFW and Auxiliary members that came together to make this happen for our remarkable students and teachers.
The Mid-Year Roundup at the Omni Hotel in Corpus Christi had a rough start due to COVID-19. As always, working together we made it happen. Our National President, Sandi Onstwedder, made her official visit to Texas. (What a fun gal she is!) An afternoon was set aside for training. This was helpful, especially since we were not able to have Statewide Training this year. Perhaps the best of all was the Department Scholarship Dinner on board the USS Lexington. What an experience!
